Craft breweries (small scale breweries) are springing up across the country and here in NC. By rehabilitating old abandoned buildings and bringing new pedestrian activity, they have proven to be a catalyst for positive revitalization in other cities, such as Asheville, Durham, Greensboro, Albemarle, and Charlotte. City staff is proposing changes to the land development code to clarify where microbreweries can locate and conditions that have to be met.
